Where sizes are listed in inches, this relates to the chest or waist size of the wearer and not the physical dimensions of the garment.

Unpadded interactive jackets and shell jackets have a built in size allowance to accommodate the inner or layer garments and may appear to be larger than standard when worn alone. An example of this would be 3 in 1 style jackets when the inner garment, usually a fleece jacket, is detached and only the outer shell is worn.
